Professionals from all sectors of the beauty industry came out in force for British Beauty Council’s British Beauty Week Industry Day, which saw a mix of panel discussions, speeches, brand showcases and demos. To kick it all off PB editor Eve Oxberry and deputy editor Ellen Cummings joined the press breakfast, where BBCo chief executive Millie Kendall launched the event, supported by MP Kate Dearden and Baroness June Sarpong.
They began by sharing key stats from new report “The Impact of Beauty”, including the fact that 50% of high-street beauty or hair appointments lead to spend at nearby businesses, demonstrating how essential beauty is to the high street. Later on, panel discussions included an appearance by Spice Girl Mel B, who spoke on the importance of representation in the industry, plus a focus on the changes shaping the market, with singer and entrepreneur Rochelle Humes joined by trend forecasters from WGSN and Boots.
REVITALASH COSMETICS’S 20TH ANNIVERSARY DINNER
NOMAD HOTEL, LONDON
Revitalash Cosmetics held an exclusive dinner to celebrate the brand's 20th anniversary and two decades of innovation in lash and brow care.
Held in the hotel's elegant Magistrates' Ballroom, the event brought together beauty industry professionals, press and brand partners for an evening of live entertainment, food and drinks, while reflecting on the company's journey and looking ahead to its next chapter. Professional Beauty’s Eve, Ellen, Josie and Kezia joined the party.
Hosted by founder and chief executive Dr Michael Brinkenhoff and president and global chief marketing officer Lori Jacobus, the celebration highlighted the brand's origins and its commitment to “purposeful beauty”.
Founded in 2006, Revitalash Cosmetics began with the development of a lash-conditioning formula inspired by Brinkenhoff's desire to help his wife, Gayle, feel beautiful while undergoing treatment for breast cancer. Since then, the company has expanded into a global beauty brand while continuing to support breast cancer awareness and research initiatives.
A highlight of the evening was a first look at the brand's latest innovations, including the unveiling of Revitalash Peptide Complex+.
