While 60% reported a dip in treatment business compared with January 2025, 12% still saw growth and 28% held steady. Retail proved to be a bright spot, with 44% of salons experiencing higher sales year-on-year.
Upselling continues to be a strong driver of commercial success, with 62% of salon owners considering it essential and a further 25% using it thoughtfully when genuinely relevant. This reinforces the importance of combining great service with strategic product and add-on recommendations.
At the same time, 83% of salons have been cautious about raising prices, reflecting sensitivity to client expectations. This presents an opportunity for value-led communication and targeted service upgrades.
