Tech TIME

This month’s treatments include high-tech facials that combine tech with touch for maximum results

Germaine de Capuccini Expert Jet treatment

The new dermafusion rejuvenation system from Germaine de Capuccini is designed to provide multiple benefits with visible results in one 60-minute session. The new device helps to clean, exfoliate, and rejuvenate skin with six technologies – Sonic Peel ultrasound exfoliation, Hydra+ hydradermabrasion, Ultra-S ultrasound for regeneration, Y-Life microcurrent, Cryo-Fix cryotherapy to firm the skin, and Jet Fill.

The Jet Fill technology involves a needle-free infiltration system for deep penetration of active ingredients beyond the dermis, designed to offer anti-ageing results comparable to minimally invasive treatments, but without pain or side effects. In treatment, the device can be combined with existing products or with the new Expert Jet solutions created for the system. These includes The Anti-ageing Solution for mature skin, The Glow Solution to combat the first signs of ageing, and The Balancing Solution to treat younger, more oily skin. The system is also compatible with Germaine de Capuccini’s Timexpert and Excel Therapy O2 products.

Germaine de Capuccini UK recommends charging approximately £150–£180 for a treatment. germainedecapuccini.com

Tried and tested… pHformula skin resurfacing facial

The lowdown: pHformula is a dermatological brand that bridges the gap between cosmeceuticals and medical-grade treatments. Known for its controlled chemical resurfacing approach, the brand offers solutions for ageing, acne, hyperpigmentation and chronic redness – all while prioritising the skin’s natural pH balance and barrier function. pHformula promotes gentle exfoliation and regeneration. Treatments are customisable, allowing therapists to adapt the protocol to the client’s concerns.

The experience: I visited The Lodsworth Clinic in Haslemere, Surrey, for a treatment with Gemma Halil, pHformula’s lead educator and an experienced facialist. Halil works one day a week from this serene countryside clinic and has a bespoke approach to treatments.

As I had an awards event the next day and had recently had a spray tan, Halil tailored the treatment to give me maximum glow with minimal resurfacing to avoid peeling. After a double cleanse using the brand’s nourishing E.X.F.O. Cleanse and E.Y.E. Balm Cleanse, Gemma applied the S.K.I.N. Primer to prepare my face for actives. Next came 10 minutes under the Celluma LED light to stimulate skin repair and reduce inflammation.

She then applied C.R. 2 Complex – a multi-acid formulation to reduce redness and calm sensitive skin – and left it on for five minutes before removing it and applying the A.D.V.A.N.C.E.D. peel-off mask, which contains activated charcoal and phyto-complexes to strengthen the skin barrier and promote radiance.

To boost glow and texture without causing irritation, Halil used a nanoneedling device to infuse the AA Solution, a blend of alpha amino acids like L-arginine, mandelic, phytic and pyruvic. This painless step exfoliated while stimulating collagen production and evening skin tone. The treatment finished with the P.U.R.E. Rosehip Oil and SPF50+ Pro Defence.

The verdict: My skin looked instantly refreshed and luminous – perfectly prepped for an event the following day. I had no peeling or sensitivity posttreatment, and over the next few days, my skin felt smooth and hydrated. Halil’s personalised approach and in-depth knowledge ensured every product had purpose and impact. It’s an excellent option for those wanting a clinical-grade facial without downtime.

Business benefits: pHformula is a smart investment for businesses seeking to offer results-driven facials with a scientific edge. Its pharma-cosmeceutical formulations deliver measurable improvements in skin health, while the adaptable treatment protocols allow therapists to personalise each session.

Halil charges £140 for the resurfacing and an extra £25 for the nanoneedling – pHformula allows therapists to set their own pricing but recommends charging no less than £75. phformula.com

Tried and tested… Bespoke facial at Taktouk Clinic

The lowdown: I visited the renowned Taktouk Clinic in Knightsbridge, London, to experience a bespoke facial with Aesthetic Medicine Awards 2025 Therapist of the Year finalist Nadia Aminian.

The experience: Tucked away in a courtyard with flowers in bloom and a trickling fountain is the award-winning Taktouk Clinic – housing not only Dr Wassim Taktouk himself but also a superstar team of doctors and therapists including Nadia Aminian, the clinic’s senior aesthetician.

Aminian is one of the most lovely and soothing people to be around, so I knew I was in for a high-touch as well as high-tech facial due to her empathetic energy. The treatment started with a thorough analysis – I’d just returned from Thailand and my skin had gone from glowing to patchy and my hormonal breakouts were at it again.

After a deep cleanse using the Hydrafacial device and a light glycolic and salicylic acid peel, Aminian went in with some manual extractions to rid my face of the superficial whiteheads my hormones cause to flare monthly.

Next was BTL’s Exion radiofrequency, targeted particularly around my nasolabial folds. This felt so warm and soothing I could have fallen asleep.

Next, Aminian used the ZO Complexion Clearing Mask on my cheeks – the area where she had done most of the extractions – to kill any bacteria before putting me under a Dermalux LED device. The oxygen infusion with customised serum she added next was a cooling contrast to the previous technologies and supercharged the hydrating benefits.

Finally, Aminian gave me one of her signature facial massages. I felt lifted and sculpted while also being relieved of tension, and she finished with Skinceuticals products.

The verdict: I loved the combination of treatments Aminian chose for me. Facials like these are my favourite; the type that combine the best technologies with the unique soothing and sculpting skills of the therapist’s hands. I was looking like a dewy dumpling when I left, with a radiant glow.

Business benefits: Aminian’s facials are bespoke to each client, weaving in technology and manual methods, making them uniquely adaptable to anyone and a huge variety of skin concerns – a great reason to have this sort of adaptable, combination treatment and a highly skilled aesthetician in both tech and touch on your team.

Tried and tested… Grown Alchemist Regenerator Facial

The lowdown: The Regenerator Facial is a modern, science-meets-nature treatment designed to visibly firm, tone and rejuvenate skin. It combines bioactive formulations with tools like ZIIP nano- and microcurrent technology, facial cupping and cryotherapy. The result is a sculpted, radiant complexion.

The experience: I visited Grown Alchemist’s flagship store in Soho, London, where I was greeted by facialist Emily Nunn. The space itself is a minimalist haven with sleek lines, calming neutrals and plenty of plants.

The treatment began with a double cleanse using the brand’s signature plant-based formulas, followed by a gentle enzyme exfoliation. Nunn then applied the Age-Repair Gel Masque, which contains pomegranate extract and a peptide complex to boost collagen and hydrate the skin. While the mask worked its magic, I enjoyed a relaxing neck and head massage.

Next came the ZIIP device, delivering nano- and microcurrents to sculpt and lift, followed by facial cupping to stimulate circulation. Cryotherapy provided a refreshing finish, leaving my skin feeling firm and energised. The treatment concluded with a spritz of Anti-Pollution Mist and a touch of lip balm.

The verdict: Post treatment, my skin felt noticeably firmer and looked more radiant. The combination of advanced technology and natural ingredients provided immediate results without irritation. I appreciated the holistic approach of this facial, which left me feeling both relaxed and rejuvenated.

Business benefits: Grown Alchemist’s Regenerator Facial offers a blend of scientific innovation and natural ingredients, appealing to clients seeking effective, nature-based skincare solutions. The treatment’s use of advanced technologies like ZIIP, combined with bioactive formulations, positions it as a premium offering in any spa or clinic. The brand’s commitment to sustainability and holistic wellness further enhances its appeal to a discerning clientele.
