JOHN LEWIS
September 2024 brought strong results for spa managers, with 63% reporting better treatment business compared to last year, and 24% seeing stable performance. Retail business showed mixed results, with 52% experiencing growth and 41% seeing a decline, signalling room for improvement in product sales.
Uniforms are becoming more of a team decision in many spas, with 76% of managers consulting staff on their preferences. This collaborative approach not only boosts morale but also ensures staff feel comfortable in their work environment. Some managers (37%) go a step further by offering several options, while 13% give staff the freedom to accessorise and make adjustments. This focus on staff morale might be something more spas should look to pursue, considering over two-thirds (63%) of our respondents report that staff turnover is a concern for them.
