Professional Beauty North 2024 will feature four live stages, as well as workshops and networking opportunities. Here’s a taster of what’s on offer

Skin & Advanced Treatments Stage

This stage’s programme will see speakers sharing their advice on common skincare issues and tips for trending treatments, with live demonstrations and the opportunity to discover the latest innovations to incorporate in your beauty business.

Don’t miss:

• Microneedling: combination treatments and successful adaptions for ageing skin – with facial specialist Jody Taylor, founder of Skindeep Clinic and previous PB Award winner.

• Lymphatic drainage techniques – from manual to mechanical – with body sculpting expert Jasmina Connelly, founder of Roseline Academy.

Session spotlight:

Transformative beauty: healing, health and aesthetics combined

Celebrity cosmetic facialist William Foley will explore how nutrition, holistic practices and aesthetic devices can help clients achieve better treatment outcomes through promoting wellness and wellbeing. He will also be demonstrating devices which promote muscle stimulation, relaxation, better brain function and improved immune defence.

Business & Digital Skills Stage

Speakers from all corners of the beauty industry will bring advice on attracting and retaining clients, managing your team, your cash flow and the route to setting up a mobile business, as well as offering career advice to those who feel stuck and want to grow.

Session spotlight:

How to overcome your fear and navigate social media and digital marketing as a beauty business owner

Beauty salon Elegance of Gidea Park has won awards for its social media marketing and community building. In this motivational session, salon owner Louise Wotton will help other business owners to navigate digital marketing, explaining how to master essential techniques, even if social media isn’t necessarily something you have knowledge or experience in. The session will be particularly helpful for for those who are lacking confidence and want to grow their skillset.

Trends and Techniques Stage

Lash techs, nail artists, MUAs, expert waxers and brow specialists will unite on the Trends & Techniques stage at PB North. Not only will they be demonstrating some of the most innovative techniques in beauty, but will also provide education on how to implement some of the hottest emerging trends to help keep your business ahead of the curve.

Don’t miss:

· Learn a skill – the “learn a skill” session with Kirsty Meakin is back. Nail techs, don’t miss this opportunity to learn from a legend and add new techniques to your repertoire.

· Character art demo – Bespoke painting nail artist Jiak Hing, aka Jark Nails, will give you the tools and techniques to break down any character your client my ask you to paint.

Session spotlight:

Session spotlight: Making it as a Makeup Artist Join makeup artist James Mac, alongside industry veteran, mental health advocate and inclusivity champion Ann Marie Harper, aka Glamour Gran Ann, in a discussion about making it in the wonderful world of makeup, hosted by presenter and celebrity MUA Armand Beasley. Both Mac and Harper have overcome adversity to get to where they are today; Mac is living with Tourette’s while Harper has struggled with severe depression. Together they will discuss how their differences have helped them carve out unique paths in the industry and given them the determination to thrive. The session will be particularly valuable to anybody who feels like something is holding them back.

Live Demo Stage

Leading brands exhibiting at the show will take to the stage to showcase their latest products and treatments. Beauty Roundup

Join Susan Routledge and a host of guest speakers to gain business advice, discuss challenges and share knowledge in a relaxed environment. On Sunday, September 29, you can choose between the Salon Owners’ Business & Prosecco Event at 11am–1pm, and the Solo Operators’ Business & Prosecco Event at 2pm–4pm. Speakers in the morning session include Verity Davies of Mary Howarth Beauty Culture and Brenda Kingswood of Savanna Beauty Centre, while the afternoon session for solo operators features names including Samantha Harrop of Samantha Harrop Advanced Skincare & Beauty and Kathy Scott of Ginger Tree Skin Clinic.

Meanwhile, on Monday, September 30, you can join Habia’s Joan Scott at the “Bringing the Beauty of Business & Education Together” event from 11am to 1pm, which includes an update on the government licence for non-surgical cosmetic procedures with Diane Hey.

Glitterbels Workshops

There’s a full programme of nail workshops to help techs elevate their skills. Each day, techs can choose from sessions including Beyond Beautiful Hema-Free Builder-Bel Gel Application, Amazing Acrylic Art Class, Jaw-Dropping Gel Design, and Ombré the Day Away: The Ultimate Builder Gel Ombré Masterclass. Tickets to the workshops cost £20 per person per session.
