The Safety in Beauty Awards celebrate the beauty and aesthetics industry, and content writer Ellen Cummings attended the 10th edition of the awards as a guest of previous PB London speaker Dr Ahmed El Muntasar, with other attendees including Aesthetic Medicine editor Anna Dobbie, industry expert Andrew Hansford and singer Sinitta. The awards were presented during a threecourse dinner. Among the winners were previous PB Award winner Viktoryia Rohal for Best Beauty Therapist, Laser Clinics UK for Best Group of Clinics, and Remedi London for Best New Clinic.

Consumer show Pause Live made its debut in Islington, London, offering a wealth of content for women going through menopause or perimenopause. Organised by Aesthetic Medicine (AM) contributing editor Vicky Eldridge, the show included two live stages of presentations and panel discussions on topics such as “Bio-hacking your menopause”, with Dr Nima Mahmoodi and Dr Nichola Conlon, and “Sex on the sofa with Sinitta”, where the singer shared her journey. PB editor Eve Oxberry went with AM editor Anna Dobbie to check out the line-up, which also included two wellness activity zones for yoga, pilates and mindfulness, plus an exhibition hall featuring specialist menopause brands as well as professional industry names including BTL Aesthetics, Inmode and ESK skincare.

The hair and beauty event for women of colour returned for a second year and deputy editor Kezia Parkins went to check it out. This year’s event was sponsored by TikTok, whereas last year it was sponsored by Instagram. Visitors got to see a live demo from Nars followed by a make-up panel with industry favourites Mikai Mcdermott, Uche Natori, Queen Hadassah, Jourds, Joy Adenuga, Nashaat Bello and Cherelle Lazarus. Kezia also saw an important panel about Black skincare with the likes of Sabrina Elba, Evie Samuel, Kemi Fabusiwa AKA Dr Fab, Noelly Michoux and Dija Ayodele. Professional nail brand Glossify was giving free manicures and the exhibition featured brands such as It Cosmetics, Aveda and Estée Lauder, as well as black-owned brands like Emolyne. Guests left with a goodie bag packed with products for Black hair and skin.
