At Ryan Lo, whose collection conveyed a sense of youthful fun with a hint of sexiness, CND opted for stripped back nails with just two colours. The perfect sultry, red talon was created with Vinylux in Wildfire on an elegant oval shape. Meanwhile, Naked Naïveté, a delicate pink, fashioned elegant nude nails.

Reflecting his signature luxe look, glitz and glamour dominated at Julien MacDonald. Lead tech Karen Louise explains how she came up with the nails: “I worked closely with Julien to create a perfectly finished look which would complement his embellished designs. Orly Breathable Treatment and Colour in Kiss Me I’m Kind was used on the models toes, while Orly Rage (a subtle metallic rose gold shade, which adds dimension and luxury to the model’s nails) was painted on fingers.”

Karen Louise also provided the fun, motor-inspired nails for Sadie Williams SS19 collection. “I worked closely to re-create Sadie’s designs on the nail with intricate patterns that weaved in a mixture of motor motifs such as chevrons, checked flags and lightening bats. We used an array of Orly contrasting colours to achieve this, predominantly utilising Orly breathable treatment and colour for the base as you do not need to use base or top coat with it.”

Jessica polishes also appeared on models for several shows. Cherrie Snow, head of nails for the David Koma and Temperley London shows, employed Jessica Custom Colour in nude tone Tease with No Shine Matte Finish top coat to complement Koma’s creations, and one sheer coat of coral-toned Juicy Melon paired well with Temperley’s ultra-feminine designs.
