IIAA SALON OF THE YEAR AWARDS
QUAGLINO’S, LONDON
The International Institute of Anti-Ageing (IIAA) held its annual Salon of the Year Awards at a gala lunch on June 11. The Jane Iredale, Environ and ANP distributor awarded 10 salons during the ceremony, which was attended by PB’s Eve Oxberry and Amanda Pauley and hosted by journalist Nadine Baggott. Winners included Monica Tolan’s Beauty Clinic, The Skin Gym and Tessa Stevens Health & Beauty Clinic.
PBTV FILMING DAY
THE JAM TREE, CHELSEA, LONDON
The PB team spent a day filming editorial videos with industry names including Natalie Piper from The Eyelash Design Company; Tinu Bello, founder of Colour Riot Nails; and Kerry Beavis, owner of The Revive Company. Piper explained the pros and cons of lash lifts and extensions, Bello shared her tips for becoming a social media pro, and Beavis spoke about avoiding RSI. NAIL HARMONY GELISH GALA PRINCES THEATRE, CLACTON-ON-SEA
Gelish distributor Nail Harmony organised a gala in Clacton-on-Sea on June 21 for its educators, techs, press and friends of the company. The evening included entertainment from singer Rai Elle, fire artists and a magician. Partygoers enjoyed cocktails and canapés and the Nail Harmony team revealed its latest venture, Beauty Talk Radio. The winner of the #cherishgelish competition was also announced – Kayliegh Morgan was gifted an all-inclusive holiday to Mexico.
THALGO SALON OF EXCELLENCE AWARDS
LIFEHOUSE HOTEL AND SPA, ESSEX
Marine skincare brand Thalgo congratulated the winners of its annual Excellence Awards with a celebratory gathering on June 5 at Lifehouse Hotel and Spa in Essex. Winners included Chill Out Spa in Liverpool, named Spa of the Year, and Beauty Spa at the Bentley Hotel in Lincoln, which won the Therapy Team award. Presentation of crystal trophies for winners, and certificates for all attendees, was followed by afternoon tea and prosecco.
UK SPA ASSOCIATION SUMMER NETWORKING EVENT
BINGHAM HOTEL, RICHMOND
PB’s editor Eve Oxberry and publisher Mark Moloney attended the UK Spa Association’s summer party in Richmond, London. Lunch was vegan bowl food and there were talks from Stu Henshall of the Alternative Kitchen on vegan spa menus, and Jo Harris, general manager of the London School of Beauty and Makeup, on the benefits of employing newly qualified therapists. Brands including Vinoble Cosmetics, Spa Find, Germaine de Capuccini and Scentered were on hand to talk to attendees about their products and treatments.
