Decléor Hydra Floral Moisture Shield Anti-Pollution Facial

Decléor has collaborated with its skincare expert, celebrity facialist Nichola Joss, to create a treatment that protects city-goers’ skin from the harmful effects of pollution.

The 75-minute Hydra Floral Moisture Shield Anti-Pollution Facial uses a combination of three types of massage to reduce breakouts, congestion and dullness caused by city fumes, as well as increase oxygen levels and cell renewal to help prevent premature ageing.

Joss’s signature lymphatic drainage technique is a core part of the treatment, known to remove toxins and pollutants from deep within pores, as well as keeping skin hydrated and radiant. The Hydra Floral anti-pollution eye gel and day cream, which are used in treatment, are also available to be retailed to clients. Decléor recommends charging £75 for the treatment. Neo Elegance The Selfie Facial

With the ageing effects of high energy visible (HEV) light emitted from smartphones in the spotlight, Neo Elegance has launched a facial to help the selfie generation keep their skin in top condition.

Using LED wavelengths, this 40-minute treatment combats HEV-induced premature ageing and hyperpigmentation by boosting wound healing and collagen production.

The treatment starts with a cleanse and gentle chemical peel to strengthen the skin, while lifting hyperpigmentation and reducing congestion.

Next, red LED is applied using the Lumineo device (pictured) to penetrate the dermal layer of the skin, stimulating fibroblast cells and regenerating collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid.

A sheet mask infused with hyaluronic acid and plant extracts is then put on and the ingredients are pushed deep into the skin using the LumiPro – a device that uses electrical muscle stimulation. The pulses also help strengthen the facial muscles, lifting and re-educating the contours. The treatment finishes with application of serum, eye gel, lip balm and SPF.

Neo Elegance recommends charging £65 for the treatment. Call the brand on 01332 986969

This month we tried… Sofri Signature Method

The lowdown: German skincare brand Sofri works on the principles of colour therapy, combining holistic energy work with products developed by biochemists that claim to influence the mind and skin. Products are categorised by colour and the shade a client is drawn to in consultation is indicative of what their skin needs.

The experience: I had my 70-minute Sofri treatment at Ivo Venturi Medispa in Knightsbridge, London.

I was drawn to yellow, which is representative of the solar plexus chakra and is said to indicate new things in life – perhaps the new treatment I was about to try? I was also given the two shades that complement yellow (lilac and violet) and my “age colour” which was green. These colours were representative of the product lines my therapist would use during treatment.

After cleansing and toning, therapist Delice Akyuz applied Enzyme Peeling Yellow to address my oiliness, a mild exfoliating gel with fruit acid enzymes to mop up excess sebum.

Next was the Yellow Ampoule with sugar derivative pentavin to do more sebum-regulating work, with which Akyuz massaged in, followed by the Orange Mask to boost the ampoule’s ingredients.

While the mask was on, Akyuz carried out an arm and hand massage with the caramel-apple-cakescented Colour Energy Massage Candle Green, which was warm and buttery-soft.

We finished up with Basic Cream Lilac and Neck and Decollete Cream. Akyuz then instructed me to start taking care of the skin on my neck because signs of neglect are already starting to show, followed up with product recommendations.

Business benefits: Salons wanting to explore holistic treatments could attract clients into energy work and colour therapy with this brand.

The colour choice consultation would make clients feel special, as would the personalisation in treatment, with each tailored to their energy, skin needs and stage in life. The massage candle is also a great way for clients to practise self-care at home.

Ivo Venturi Medispa charges £100 for the treatment. Sofri’s recommended prices vary depending on location. Call the brand on 0774396520 Tried by Georgia Seago

Cynosure UK TempSure Envi treatment

Cynosure UK’s latest device is ideal for mature clients who want a more targeted approach to reducing the appearance of wrinkles and cellulite.

The multi-modal platform uses radiofrequency to heat the deep layers of the dermis without damaging the epidermis, triggering neo-collagenesis, which helps tighten skin through soft tissue coagulation. This improves the appearance of cellulite on the body as well as targeting the typical signs of ageing on the face, such as frown lines, crow’s feet and smile lines.

The machine’s real-time heat sensing technology only activates the treatment timer when a client’s skin tissue reaches therapeutic temperature (39 to 42˚C), which the brand says delivers “repeatable results, procedure after procedure”.

The device can be used on all skin types and a course of treatments is recommended for the best results. Facial treatments take around 50 minutes whereas the body can be anything up to 90 minutes.

Cynosure UK recommends charging £185 for an eye area treatment, £240 for the body, and £260 for the upper or lower face. The TempSure Envi costs £49,500. Call the brand on 01628 522252
